AHS Beanie Babie Collectors Club

The First meeting of the Beanie Babies Club took place this last Wednesday 04/15/1998. Amy R., Sue T., Pepper H., and Mrs. Nielsen brought in some of their friends to share. Amy had "Curley", Sue T. brought "Iggy", and Pepper H., brought "Bessie". Pepper's cow was dressed in a very pretty knitted sweater with a large knitted strawberry affixed to the center. How neat it was. Now all the members are going to try to dress their favorite animals in their collections. We are all looking forward to the next get together. We were honored at our second meeting to have Diane Long '00 and her friend since the 2nd grade - Michelle Luporini '00. Between the two of them they probably have more beanie babies than all of the school put together! They have gone wild collecting them, and they brought some of their best to show to us today at our get together. They shared a bear that none of us had ever seen or heard of before. The name of this particular bear was "Lil Pukey" It was about the size of Curley being of a light puce color, and when you squeezed it, it gave out a belching sound and threw up some plastic pelits in your hand. Wow! Most of those in attendance thoght it was gross, but some thought it was "cute".
Brandi just picked up Mystic and left the meeting mumbling under her breath somthing about crazy beanie collectors. We hope that she will come back to our next meeting.
I personally do not think that Pukey is or would be a great seller. I do not like the color puce because it sounds too much like puke and I do not like the idea of a bear throwing up like that. That happens too much around our house with our cat. Oh well. Oh well. Neither Diane or Michelle said much about where Pukey came from except that it was in a package with some other animals that an unnamed store just got in. They said that it was a gift to them because they had done so much business with that store, but we think it might just be a trick that they were trying to play on us. We all brought our favorites, but "Lil Pukey" certainly stood out from the rest. Come on young ladies. what kind of a sick joke were you playing on us today? Ugh! Ugh! Ugh!
